Axis for Business Raises over £800 for Elderly Care Home

Throughout the course of the recent World Cup, Axis for Business succeeded in raising over £800 for the Riverside Grange Care Home.

About Riverside Grange

A not-for-profit organisation, Riverside Grange specialises in providing first rate Alzheimer’s care for the elderly, along with patients living with dementia and other mental health conditions.

Every year, Riverside Grange relies on generous donations from the British public to meet its running costs, as well as sustain the comprehensive care received by its residents.

How Did Axis for Business Raise Over £800?

During the 2014 World Cup, Axis for Business put on a series of themed events, including sweepstakes, quizzes, football scratch cards, raffle draws and dress down Fridays, to raise money for the care home. In order to raise as much as possible, the Hull-based telecoms and energy supplier asked staff to donate any spare change to help build up the donation pot.

Over the course of the 4 week long World Cup donation drive, Axis for Business succeeded in raising £425 in total. Generously, the company’s managing director, David Meyers, reached into his own pocket to equal the amount; bringing the total Axis for Business donation to over £800.

Axis for Business and Riverside Grange Comment on Successful Donation Drive

Meyers recently commented on the successful donation drive. The managing director said that “supporting local charities has always been part of our corporate social responsibility. We hope the residents enjoy the additional activities they’ll be provided with thanks to this donation.  He went on to say that “this was a team effort from my colleagues at Axis; therefore, I would also like to thank them for their participation.”

Riverside Grange manager Adam Russell also commented on the donation drive, welcoming Axis for Business’ efforts to raise over £800 for the care home. Russell said that “on behalf of our staff and residents, we would like to thank Axis for Business for this generous donation. This money will contribute towards recreational activities for our residents, which they enjoy taking part in.”

Axis for Business would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who took part in our effort to raise funds for a very worthy cause. We’ll see you at the next World Cup!
